National Proficiency Evaluation Test (NPET), is an independent assessment of proficiencies of young engineering Graduates, diploma holders as well as supervisors. NPET also covers those with Bachelor/ Masters' in Management and Architecture.
The National Proficiency Evaluation Board constituted by CIDC is conducting NPET. Under NPET, proficiency grading based on Academic achievements and work experience (for experienced professionals), written examination, interview and group discussions for all above categories would be undertaken. The Board functions independently under the chairmanship of Dr. S.A. Reddi, Former Dy. Managing Director, Gammon India Limited, and comprises of eminent project specialists multidiscipline - engineering administrators, academicians, top managers etc. A complete list of board members is hosted on

Testing under NPET is based on the generic needs of the employer organizations and is upgraded from time to time. Upon conclusion of the examination the result shall be declared and the scores attained by the candidates shall be provided to them. In addition, an electronic card detailing the candidates achievement and other pertinent details shall be issued to the candidates for ready reference purpose. The scores
achieved would be valid for a period of 3 years from the
particular date of test. Should a candidate score lesser grade in one test, he or she can appear at the subsequent tests after a better
preparation.
A nation wide performance list of the candidates shall be prepared. CIDC would be forwarding the attained scores / results to the prospective employer organizations including any nominated by the candidates themselves. The prospective employer organizations include CIDC members and various Construction Industry Stakeholders (list is hosted on
CIDC website), and other interested organizations totaling to over 300 nos.
